Three beautiful locations

VITA VIVET Puglia is a place made of stones, light and art. This name means "live your life" in Latin and was chosen because it is intended to be a place for relaxation and joy. The property, surrounded by almond and olive trees, consists of a Main House dating from the early 20th century, a Dependence and a late 19th-century "Trullo". Three buildings from different periods, renovated and harmonised in a very contemporary style by the designer Arcangelo Bungaro. The French-Italian owners have interpreted the original Apulian structure with a cosmopolitan touch and their own taste in design.

Welcome in Our World

You can choose your favourite solution where you can live your holidays in the authentic Apulian Style. The large Main House, the cosy Dependence or the characteristic 5-cone Trullo. The swimming pool and the large central square make Vita Vivet a magical and unique place.

Guide, Tips and Venues for our guests

WHAT TO DO
The Sea. We are just a few kilometres from the well equipped beaches of the Ionian coast, famous for their fine sand and transparent sea, and just as close to the rocky coves and blue sea of the Adriatic. Both are worth a try, but we recommend that you follow the weather forecast - if it's windy on one coast, it's normally pretty quiet on the other.
Visit the historic town centre of Francavilla Fontana. You will discover the beautiful square of the "Basilica Minore del Santissimo Rosario", in baroque style with the highest dome in Salento.
The Castle-Fortress of the "Imperiali" to discover during the day. The beautiful golden church of the "Padri Liguorini". Piazza Umberto I with its bars with open-air terraces and the historic centre with its typical restaurants. Via Roma for a walk through the baroque palaces.

GASTRONOMY

VitaVivet is very close to Ceglie Messapica, famous for the gourmet cuisine of Cibus and

Antonella Ricci, but it is also the centre of many small trattorias and pizzerias where we

always recommend booking in advance, especially in July and August.

Apulia is also the country of vegetarians, where vegetables are prepared in a thousand

different ways, and you will find what you are looking for among the mixed antipasti.

Another famous experience is the 'fornelli' in Martina Franca. These are butchers' shops where you can choose meat and have it freshly prepared, 'bombette', meat rolls with a variety of fillings to be barbecued, or giblets rolls.

San Michele Salentino is known for its exceptional butcher shops where you can buy the best meat to prepare on the Vita Vivet barbecue.

In Taranto, you can eat fish or mussels and oysters grown in the gulf.

In Francavilla Fontana, in the old town centre, you'll find small restaurants serving traditional  Apulian menus, our favourite being "Attrattoria" (via Scazzeri, 2). In the main square there are pizzerias, burger houses and bars where you can enjoy an aperitif in a beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere. The wine shop "La vineria N.01" (via Regina Elena 21) to taste the wines of local producers, in a young and competent environment.

If, on the other hand, you want to taste Apulian wines accompanied by a thousand exquisite appetizers with special combinations based on local products, you can't miss a trip to Villa Castelli to "Uva Viva" (corso Vittorio Emanuele III).

TOURISM

Grottaglie.

A tour of the shops in the ceramics district where you can find unique and colourful objects.

Ceglie Messapica.

A town famous for its gastronomy and Michelin-starred restaurants. With a beautiful historic centre, don't miss the sweet 'dolcetti cegliesi' made with almonds at the bar on the Corso.

Ostuni.

The magnificent "Città Bianca" with its intricately labyrinthine historic centre is ideal for a delightful aperitif in the streets. Breathtaking views from above with the sea in the background.

Taranto.

Don't miss the MArTa archaeological museum, with an exceptional collection on Magna Graecia, of which it was the heart here in Puglia. The old town with its seafood restaurants. The possibility of seeing the dolphins that live in the Gulf of Taranto with catamaran excursions www.joniandolphin.it to be booked in advance.

Martina Franca.

A very elegant town, if you are here in summer you can see the 'Festival della valle d'Itria' with Opera, Concerts and Classical Music. A rich Antiques Market where you can find antiques from Puglia.

IN FRANCAVILLA FONTANA

For breakfast, there are many bars in Francavilla where you can relax on the terrace, our favourites are the "Giba" in Piazza Umberto I or "Bar del Corso" in Corso Umberto I. Then in via Capitano di Castri you'll find other bars with outdoor tables and the "Sardano" patisserie.

Our favourite is a secret place, a tiny pasticceria( patisserie), called “Sapori” and hidden in a house at 74 via Francesco Flora. It has traditional Sunday desserts that are delicious.

The bakery in Francavilla is called "Forno" and the breads are always produced on site, from traditional to new proposals made with local flours. We love the typical, compact "pane di grano" or the "frise" to eat as a snack, freshly soaked in water and dressed with oil, salt, tomato and oregano. We recommend "Lu Furnu a Petra" in via Giovanni di Castri 3, with delicious “taralli” in a variety of flavours or "Nuova Pan Sud" in via Barbaro Forleo, 29 where you can find ready-made traditional dishes.

Francavilla is known for its "confetti ricci" (curly sugared almonds), which are made only here. They are covered with small drops of sugar to create a rippled effect and can be found in Piazza Umberto I, or near the Imperiali Castle.
The famous
“Spumone” ice cream from the "Gelateria Artigiana Lillino" (ex-Bar Juve) in via Regina Elena 90.
Try
the mozzarella, the primosale cheese, the fiordilatte, the
ricotta and the mature cheeses that you can find everywhere and are always produced in the nearby
“masserie” (the farms here).

SHOPPING

Every Saturday morning in Francavilla there is the largest market in the province, clothing, shoes, accessories, food, vintage, you can find everything at affordable prices, if you want to have a fun and authentic experience you have to go there. Remember to haggle over the price a little, it's standard practice and no one will be offended.

Proximity
